Stonington Small Boat Association

Welcome to Stonington Small Boat Association. Our goal is to support safe and active sailing, boating and kayaking. SSBA has provides small boat storage in Stonington Borough. Storage space is available for non-motorized seaworthy vessels of less than 20 feet and under 300 lbs. We currently have 138 spaces available for members.

Kayak Racks

Kayak storage space is provided on 5 racks, each holding 8 boats, for a total of 40 boats stored on 4 levels.

Dinghy Racks

There are 69 Dingy Racks that safely store Lasers, Sunfish, small boats and rowing tenders on 3 levels.

Ground Storage

The Ground Storage has space for 21 boats on dollies measuring 16 ft. or less, and 8 spaces for boats on dollies measuring 12 ft. or less that do not fit in the dingy racks.

At Town Dock

There is no easier location to launch a boat in Stonington than SSBA.  The beach launch area is protected on the north side by the Town Dock and the south side by boat slips and an attenuator barrier. The distance to the open harbor is about 300 feet leading to the center of the harbor. A turn to starboard will take you to Dog Watch, a turn to port will take you to Breakwater and Fishers Island.

Work Parties

Spring work party, bi-weekly grass mowing, August seaweed raking keep the boat park area prepared and fully functioning throughout the season. Many hands make for light work, come help out and meet your fellow boaters. THANK YOU!
