2026 SSBA is celebrating our 50th Anniversary!
SSBA was established in 1976 by the town of Stonington. The land area is leased from The Town for $1.00 per year. Thirty four boats were stored the first year. Today, over 125 vessels are stored here just steps from the harbor, ready for a wonderful sail or paddle.
Over the years, SSBA members have worked together as stewards of the boat park grounds, built a variety of racks to meet the community demand and strive to preserve the beach front launch area. Throughout the season, a number of short work parties, lawn mowing, beach/seaweed clean ups are held to keep our boat park neat. These events help keep the boat park fully functioning and allow volunteers the opportunity to meet, mingle and exchange their tall tales of adventures on our local waters and beyond.
