Wednesday Night Racing Series
For those interested in fun, low pressure racing, take a lap around the harbor with others who love an evening on the water, plan to participate in small boat racing every Wednesday night from mid June for 10 weeks. The race series is a popular community event that has been hosted by the Stonington Dinghy Club for over 50 years.
Some boats from the current fleet include Ideal 18, Laser, Sunfish, JY 15, Hunter 14, Cape Dory, Cape Cod Frosty, Sea Dog, Opti, 420, Bic, RS Aero, 29’er, Highlander, custom designs and multi-hulls, but all are welcome! As long your boat is under 20 feet long… you can race with us for FREEEEEEEE!
-The 2024 race series in Stonington Harbor runs from June 19 to August 21.
-The first start is at 6pm, off the end of the Town Docks across the channel.
-Give your name, sail #, and type of sailboat to all the Race Committee.
-RC will provide the course and time of your start, with a 3 minute warning.
-Race turning marks orange PVC tubes that are in the same place for entire season.
-Sail in 7 out of 10 races, and skipper and crew receive burgee glasses at dinner and awards party at Stonington Harbor Yacht Club.

Fall and Spring Frostbite Series
The Stonington Harbor Yacht Club hosts Spring and Fall series for Lasers and Sunfish starting in late April and mid September. These races are open to anyone, you need not be a member of the SHYC or SSBA to participate. For more information please visit shyc.us
