SSBA welcomes active boaters!
SSBA was established in 1976 as per a Stonington Town meeting. The land area is leased from The Town of Stonington for $1.00 per year. Since 1976, about $60,000.00 of SSBA money has been spent to take care of space storage and prevent erosion. Every year, volunteers provide TLC and contribute to feeling of community. Thirty four boats were stored the first year, we currently have spaces for 138 boats and kayaks.
Throughout the season there will be a number of work parties, lawn mowing, beach/seaweed clean ups lasting no more than 60 minutes. These work events help keep the storage area prepared and fully functioning and allows members to exchange their tall stores of adventures on the high seas!
